Jedburgh and Kelso from £24.95 per person

Regular day trips from Darlington, Durham and Newcastle to the Scottish borders visiting historic towns of Jedburgh and Kelso. After our last pick-up, we’ll head north west to the border town of Jedburgh for our first mid-morning stop where you’ll be able to explore the 12th century Abbey and the Towerhouse, Mary Queen of Scot’s Visitor Centre where she was accommodated on her visit in 1566. Alternatively just relax and browse around the attractive Market Place and Cannongate central area, perhaps stopping for morning coffee. After the morning break we’ll continue on to our next destination, the market town of Kelso in the heart of the Scottish Borders and the nearby magnificent 16th century Floors Castle, home of the 10th Duke of Roxburghe and the largest inhabited castle in Scotland. A possible chance to enjoy a light lunch in the Terrace Café before exploring the castle’s impressive history and discovering the Walled Garden, as well as woodland and riverside walks. 

York from £19.95 per person

Regular day trips from Newcastle, Durham & Darlington to the historic city of York. Arriving in the centre you’ll have the rest of the day to explore this ancient city founded by the Romans at the beginning of the first millennium. The city is also famous for its historical landmarks of its 13th-century gothic cathedral, York Minster and the ancient city walls which also houses an exhibition tracing the life of Plantagenet King Richard III. If your preference is for shopping you can have a leisurely browse around the narrow medieval streets with their quaint shops or in the more up to date shopping area in the centre of town. For those with an interest in our industrial heritage try a visit to the National Railway Museum, charting the storey of rail travel in Britain and its impact on society.

Glasgow from £24.95 per person

Regular day trips from Darlington, Durham and Newcastle to the port city of Glasgow. After our last pick-up we’ll head west as far

as Carlisle then directly north to enter the city from the east. We’ll visit two main destinations within the city with the first drop-off

in the area of Argyle Street and the Princess Sqaure Shopping Centre. The second location will be at the award winning Riverside Museum of Transport located on the banks of the river Clyde.

With timed pick-up and drop-off options you’ll be able to spend time at one location if you prefer or have the option to explore

both destinations.

Windemere & Ambleside from £24.95 per person

Regular day trips from Newcastle, Durham and Darlington to the delights of Windermere, England’s largest natural lake. Following on from our three scheduled pick-ups in the North East, we head west directly to our first location, Bowness-on-Windermere for a scenic cruise down the lake to our next port of call where you’ll change onto the Lakeside and Haverthwaite railway for a 3.5 mile journey to Haverthwaite village and a visit to the charming Lakeland Motor Museum. There’ll be an opportunity to stop for lunchtime refreshments perhaps at the Station Tea Room before boarding your coach for the trip to Kendal, third largest town in Cumbria with it’s characterful yards full of shops, café’s, restaurants and pubs. A great opportunity to buy some famous Kendal Mint Cake, once cleverly marketed as energy food and provided for Ernest Shackleton’s epic Antarctic Expedition.

Ullswater,Glenridding and Penrith from £38.50 per person

Regular day trips from Newcastle, Durham and Darlington. Following our last pick-up in Darlington, we head west from Scotch Corner directly to Pooley Bridge at the north end of Ullswater to catch the steamer for a cruise down the lake to the village of Glenridding and taking a break for lunchtime refreshments. After lunch you’ll board your coach again to head up the west side of Ullswater to the historic town of Penrith, once the capital of Cumbria with its rich history mainly due to its strategic location on the route to and from Scotland since Roman times. Its large town acting as a regional centre for the eastern Lake District has an attractive town centre with a mix of new and old buildings, the oldest of which, Burrowgate and Sandgate dating back to the 13th century. For history lovers, you can visit the imposing ruins of Penrith Castle, eventually becoming a royal fortress for Richard Duke of Glocester, later to become King Richard III.

Edinburgh from £24.95 per person

Regular day trips from Darlington, Durham and Newcastle to the city of Edinburgh. Your journey will take us along the wonderfully scenic North East coast entering the city from

the east through Holyrood Park and the overlooking Arthurs Seat. We’ll pass the Palace of Holyrood and Scottish Parliament Building to drop passengers off in Johnston

Terrace within easy reach of Edinburgh Castle. From there it’s a short walk to Princes Street Gardens and the shops just beyond. Perhaps take some time to visit the Scottish

National Gallery close by, National Museum of Scotland or World Heritage Site, Carlton Hill with it’s historic monuments and striking views of the city.

Harrogate from £25.00 per person

Regular day trips from Newcastle, Durham and Darlington to the Victorian spa town of Harrogate and beautiful Cathedral City of Ripon. In the morning take time to browse the fashionable spa resort of Harrogate with its many shops,  restaurants or perhaps a visit to the Royal Pump Room Museum in the Montpellier Quarter. You could continue with a stroll around Valley Gardens, a 17 acre English Heritage Grade II listed garden before taking a break at the world famous Betty’s Tea Rooms or one of the towns many other restuarnts. After lunch we’ll visit historic Ripon with it’s magnificent gothic Cathedral dating back to the 7th century. Close by is Ripon’s thriving market place and narrow streets with their collection of interesting, eclectic and specialist shops to explore.
